Man arrested after allegedly burglarizing house, setting it on fire in Porterville

A man was arrested after a house was burglarized and set on fire in Porterville on Dec. 30, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said.

Michael Brown was arrested on suspicion of arson and burglary after firefighters responded to a home on the 200 block of West Teapot Dome Avenue just after 10 p.m. to put out a fire.

After an investigation, it was discovered that items were stolen from the home before the fire was set, the sheriff’s office said.
