Five arrested after big methamphetamine and stolen firearms bust
A big bust of methamphetamine and stolen firearms Wednesday morning led Porterville police to the arrest of five suspects who were reportedly all under the influence of drugs.
According to police, reports of a stolen vehicle around 2:50 a.m. directed police to the 1500 block of South Main Street where they found Billy Blount, 30, in possession of a stolen 1994 Yamaha Y-Z-250.
Police said they made contact at the home with Porterville residents Blount, Samuel Roberts, 28, Gary Gray, 36, Nancy Fleetwood, 37, Krystine Paul, 26, a 1-year-old child and several other uninvolved suspects.
With a search warrant, police said they found inside the residence and sheds another stolen motorcycle frame, nine firearms, one of which was stolen, methamphetamine and paraphernalia linked to the sale of meth.
Officials later received additional information that Roberts possibly possessed a stolen vehicle at his residence on the 200 block of North Roche Street, near Putnam Avenue. Upon arrival detectives said they discovered two additional stolen vehicles.
Blount, Roberts, Gray and Fleetwood were all booked into the Tulare County Jail for allegedly being under the influence of drugs.
Blount was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of a stolen firearm, maintaining a disorderly residence, possession of a firearm while under the influence of a controlled substance and child endangerment. He was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Roberts was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle. He was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Gray has two confirmed warrants for his arrest and was being held in lieu of $25,233.
Fleetwood was charged with possession of methamphetamine for sale, maintaining a disorderly residence, possession of a firearm while under the influence of a controlled substance, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, violation of probation and has two confirmed warrants for his arrest. She was being held in lieu for $135,000 bail.
Paul was cited for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
