A registered sex offender is under arrest for alleged possession of child pornography after authorities got a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said.

Phillip Markham, 26, of Tulare, was arrested Thursday after detectives served a search warrant about 10:30 a.m. and found more than 1,000 images, authorities said.

The sheriff’s cyber forensics investigation unit, working with the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, received the tip about child porn being uploaded and viewed in Tulare County.

Investigators found that the images were being uploaded to a device belonging to Markham, the sheriff’s office said. Markham is on parole from state prison.

He was booked into the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility on numerous counts of possession of child pornography and violation of parole.
