Unexpected left turn triggers crash that kills woman west of Lindsay

A woman was killed and two men were injured after a crash Thursday west of Lindsay, the California Highway Patrol reported.

CHP says Michael Lawhorn, 67, of Lindsay was driving south on Highway 65 around 5 p.m. with an unidentified 69-year-old woman when Lawhorne made an unexpected left turn onto Avenue 237.

Ismael Rodriguez, 48, of Exeter was driving north on Highway 65 as Lawhorne made the left turn and collided with the right side of Lawhorne’s 2001 Mercury, killing the woman, CHP said.

The two men were transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for injuries. CHP said Rodriguez was driving at 50 mph and are continuing to investigate the crash.
