Man shot following bike ride in central Fresno

A man is in the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds after being shot multiple times in central Fresno on Tuesday night, said Lt. Dave Ramos with the Fresno Police Department.

Ramos said the 24-year-old man was riding a bicycle in the area of Terrace and Glenn streets when a dark-colored vehicle approached him from behind.

The man said he felt “something was about to happen” and he jumped off his bike and ran west on Terrace, Ramos said.

Someone in the vehicle opened fire on the man, striking him several times. He was found in the roadway by police after he called his friend, who then called police.

He is listed in stable condition at a local hospital.

Police said the shooting is possibly gang related.
