Old Town Clovis Gun & Antiques Show set for June 24-26

The Old Town Clovis Antique & Gun Show will be held next weekend at Clovis Veterans Memorial District, drawing vendors from across the western United States.

“We’ll have 50 tables worth of guns and gun accessories,” said organizer Claudette Sue Boudreaux. “The other half will be all antique dealers and jewelry. The show is filled up.”

Boudreaux and her husband, Dennis Kirk, hosted their first gun and antique show in Clovis last August as Sierra West Shows. The event drew 1,200 attendees.

“We expect to double that this year,” Kirk said. “We learned a lot from last year and this show will be better. Everybody is very excited to come back and new people heard about the show so we have more vendors.”

Boudreaux and Kirk, who own Suquie’s Treasures, 352 Pollasky Ave. in Old Town Clovis, said several Old Town vendors will be at the show, along with dealers from the Bay Area, southern California and Nevada.

“We have some wonderful dealers,” Boudreaux said. “There will be high-end items as well as things that are priced to sell. It’s not a flea market. It’s a very nice show and the Clovis Veterans building is just a beautiful setting for that.”

Local collector Randy Guijarro will be at the show with his tintype photo purported to show Billy the Kid and his posse, Boudreaux said.

As far as the gun show, there will be everything one would expect to find there, Kirk said.

“We’ll have modern to antique firearms and accessories, magazines and ammo,” he said.

A portion of the admission fees will be donated to Heart of the Horse Therapy Ranch, which provides therapeutic equestrian activities for disabled residents and Valley veterans.

“They are a local charity and rely upon local donations for support,” Boudreaux said. “Not only do they work with children, but they also help veterans, which is a strong draw for us.”

The show will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 26.

Three-day tickets are $12; one-day tickets are $7. Additional donations of any amount will be accepted for Heart of the Horse Therapy Ranch.
