Chancellor selects new Clovis Community College president
Lori A. Bennett will be the new president of Clovis Community College, pending approval by the college district’s board of trustees at its June 14 meeting.
State Center Community College District Chancellor Paul Parnell chose Bennett, currently executive vice president of student learning at Moorpark College, to head the school after the retirement of current president Deborah Ikeda.
“Dr. Bennett brings a wealth of community college experience and is a highly talented professional,” said Parnell. “She has devoted more than 20 years to working with faculty and staff in assisting community college students which gives her unique insight into the challenges facing our students. I look forward to working with her.”
Bennett was selected as executive vice president responsible for all instructional and student
services programs at Moorpark College in 2013. Prior to that, she was the dean of student learning, department chair, PACE program facilitator, new faculty orientation facilitator, faculty professional development facilitator and business professor at Moorpark College.
In addition to teaching at Tacoma Community College and Highline Community College in Washington, Bennett has nearly 10 years of business experience.
Bennett earned a bachelor’s degree in business from University of Southern California, her MBA in marketing/finance from University of Chicago and her Ed.D. in educational leadership and policy studies from California State University, Northridge.
