Miss Winkles Pet of the Week of May 16: Winston
It’s a good thing Winston doesn’t know he’s 13, because he truly enjoys running in the sunshine. He’s affectionate with people and so very attentive.
He will certainly surprise you with his joyful romping and his whiskery smooches. He’s got a short little nub tail that “tick tocks” back and forth when he sees you, and some pointy elf-like ears that contrast well with his cute little blunt nose.
Winston is a special guy and has some special medical needs. As an older fellow, he’s got some older kidneys that need some care, so he’s on a special diet, Science Diet K/D. He will need to stay on this food for the rest of his life to keep him happy and healthy (and he certainly has no trouble eating it)!
This regal pup does have some gentlemanly manners and knows “sit” already. Winston may have some house training, since he always waits for us to take him out in the morning and doesn’t like to go in his kennel.
Winston is also very good for us on the leash and would make a very good walking companion. We think one of the best parts about Winston is his sweet mug! We just look at that big-lipped face and goofy grin and can’t help but love him.
Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday at 85 Temperance Ave. just south of Sierra Avenue. All adoptable pets have been spayed or neutered, are current on their vaccinations and microchipped.
Adoption fees are $25 for dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.
Note: the Pet of the Week may no longer be available after press time, but plenty of other adoptable pets are. Visit clovisanimalservices.org/miss-winkles for more information.
