Miss Winkles Pet of the Week: Philly

Little Philly is never without a toy when he can help it. He’s a 3-year-old Chihuahua blend who is only about 6 pounds. He’s just a little guy, but he’s a little guy with a lively personality.

Philly does well in playgroup with the other little dogs (as long as he doesn’t have to share his toys), and is very energetic.

His prior home did say that he was housetrained and that he does well with children. Philly has gone with Miss Winkles staff and volunteers to events and done very well meeting new people and playing with the kids. At events we’ve been amazed by his perky and fun-loving attitude, as well as his ability to fall asleep in our arms — still holding his toy. He manages to hold onto his toys even as he snoozes.

Philly is a pretty cool guy and the funny thing that everyone notices is his silly underbite. When you come to visit this little goofball you will get a kick out of his little tooth that sticks out when he grins his little doggie grin.

Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday at 85 Temperance Ave. just south of Sierra Avenue. All adoptable pets have been spayed or neutered, are current on their vaccinations and microchipped.

Adoption fees are $25 for dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.

Note: the Pet of the Week may no longer be available after press time, but plenty of other adoptable pets are. Visit clovisanimalservices.org/miss-winkles for more information.
