Miss Winkles Pet of the Week of May 2: Lucky
His name is Lucky and he’s a happy kind of bloke. This pit bull blend is about a year old and he’s just so much fun. Lucky really shows off just how much he likes to play when he goes out to the yard during the day. His first choice toys are pull-ropes and rubber balls. He’s a strong boy, so when he plays tug, you better hold on tight. Lucky does know how to “sit” and “laydown” and he’s doing well with leash training. We think he’s just the bee’s knees with his big-boy smile and his handsome red coat.
Lucky has been housetrained. He’s toy-motivated and is a real quick learner. He really does like his walks and playtime is his favorite.
Lucky is looking for a home where he can pal around with his humans and doesn’t have to deal with any feline friends, as they look a little too much like his favorite toys. He’s been working on figuring out other dogs, though he’s taking some time getting used to the idea and will need some socialization practice in his home to help him along the way. With a lot of love and a few toys, Lucky is ready to be someone’s best buddy.
Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday at 85 Temperance Ave. just south of Sierra Avenue. All adoptable pets have been spayed or neutered, are current on their vaccinations and microchipped.
Adoption fees are $25 for dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.
