Around Clovis: CUSD aims to hire 100 teachers; Wild Bill’s Crab Feed set for Feb. 20

Teachers needed

Clovis Unified School District will hire about 100 teachers this year due to continued enrollment growth. A job fair will be held Friday, Jan. 29. Teacher interviews may be scheduled between 8 a.m. and noon and from 2 to 6 p.m. by pre-registering online at www.cusd.com

Single-subject and multi-subject positions are available now for the 2016-17 school year. The job fair will provide candidates with an opportunity to learn about the high performing school district’s supportive work environment, collaborative employee-management relationships, outstanding school facilities and breadth of professional development offerings, officials said.

Wild Bill’s Crab Feed returns

Tickets are on sale now for the annual Wild Bill’s Crab Fest and Pasta Dinner, to be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Clovis Senior Activity Center.

Tickets cost $55 per person or $400 for a table of eight; they include all-you-can-eat crab and pasta, plus entertainment by Jeremy “Elvis” Pearce.

The event, hosted by Heart’s Delight owner “Wild” Bill Shipley, will also be a cash bar, a raffle, silent auction and live dessert auction. Tickets can be purchased at Heart’s Delight, 356 Pollasky Ave.
