American Legion gives lunch to deploying troops
American Legion Post 147 in Clovis served lunch Thursday, Oct. 1, for about 135 troops in the 40th Combat Aviation Brigade and their families. The post, which usually organizes events to welcome troops home, decided this time to serve a hamburger lunch to those set to deploy, said Post Commander Alan Fry. Food and beverages were donated by Cargill Meat Solutions, Pepsi and American Legion members, Fry said. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3225 members volunteered at the luncheon as well.
