Christmas parade entries sought
Applications for the annual Clovis Children’s Electric Christmas Parade are available online at OTCKiwanis.org. The deadline to enter is Nov. 20.
The parade, hosted by Kiwanis Club of Old Town Clovis, will be held Saturday, Dec. 5 in Old Town Clovis. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m.
Parade categories include a float, marching unit, decorated car, float with marchers and individual equestrian.
Individuals and nonprofits can enter for $25, while commercial entries are $100. For details, visit OTCKiwanis.org or call (559) 575-4311.
Pet adoption center readies for annual fundraiser, fashion show
Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center is accepting entries and selling tickets to its 10th annual fundraiser, to be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Oct. 3 at the Clovis Veterans Memorial Building, 808 4th Street.
Tickets are $60 and include a steak dinner buffet, no-host wine bar, hors d’oeuvres and pet fashion show. There will also be a silent auction and dessert auction.
The entry fee for the Pet Fashion Show is $25. Dogs, cats and pot-bellied pigs will take to the catwalk in creative clothing.

All class reunion planners needed
The Clovis High School Alumni Association needs help in planning an all class reunion. The group meets at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month in the Clovis High School library, 1055 Fowler Ave. Its next meeting will be held Sept. 15.

Registration accepted for Botanical Garden fall event
Clovis Botanical Garden will holds its children’s fall event, Birds & Bodacious Botany, from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 3. Pre-registration is required by Sept. 25.
Children will learn about birds in the garden, succulents and the building blocks of soil.
The event is limited to 40 children ages 6 to 11. The cost is $5 per child for Botanical Garden members, or $8 for non members. Contact Marge at (559) 323-5974 or cbmarge@comcast.net to register and pay.
