Clovis Unified announces eligibility for free, reduced-priced meals
Clovis Unified School District has announced its policy for providing free and reduced-price meals for children served under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program. Each school and the district office, 1450 Herndon Ave., have a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any interested party.
Clovis Unified participates in Direct Certification. If your household currently receives benefits from one of the following programs: CalFresh/SNAP (Food Stamps), California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs), Kinship Guardianship Assistance Payments (Kin-GAP), or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), DO NOT complete a meal application. School officials will notify you of your children’s eligibility for free meals.
If your child is categorized as Homeless, Migrant, or Runaway, as defined by law; or enrolled in an eligible Head Start, Even Start or pre-kindergarten class, your child is eligible for no cost meals and you will be notified by school officials of your children’s eligibility.
If you are not contacted by Aug. 21 but think your children are eligible for no cost meals, please contact Campus Catering at (559) 327-9130, or fill out an application. Foster children are categorically eligible for no cost meals and you will be notified of their eligibility, however, you may need to fill out an application. Call Campus Catering for more information.
If your child is not Directly Certified or otherwise eligible, and you believe your household will qualify based on household income, fill out an application.
If you complete online registration for your child(ren), you will be asked if you believe your child(ren) qualifies for no cost meals. If you answer YES, you will be able to enter your household information which will populate the online application.
Households are encouraged to apply online during online registration, however, application forms will also be distributed to all households with a letter informing of the availability of free and reduced-price meals for enrolled children.
The information households provide on the application will be used to determine meal eligibility and may be verified at any time during the school year by school or program officials.
If you fill out an online application please do not fill out a paper application as duplicates will delay processing time.
The household size and income criteria identified below will be used to determine eligibility for free, reduced-price, or full-price meal benefits. Children from households whose income is at or below the levels shown here are eligible for free or reduced-price meals. Students who qualify for reduced-price meals will be able to receive those meals at no charge.
