Miss Winkles Pet of the Week of Oct.10: Burnell
Burnell has provided us with many smiles, and, oh boy, tons of hugs! Burnell can give you a grin as expressive as anyone you’ll ever meet. You just gotta’ get him a little excited and that sweet smile comes out. He’s been kind of a jack of all trades around here, participating in a kissing booth, becoming an internet celebrity with his football game predictions as “Football Bernie,” and walking the catwalk at our annual Pet Fashion Show.
Burnell is a pit bull/Labrador blend with good leash manners and a happy “glass-half-full” outlook on life. He’s about 3 1/2 years old and sure loves to play with toys.
Bernie is an active boy who loves to hang out with kids. He’s lived in a home with kids and absolutely enjoyed the love and attention they provide for him: “He’s a big hugger!” Burnell is able to jump an 8-foot fence, so he’s looking for a mostly indoor home and maybe a covered kennel if he’s going to spend any time alone outside. He’s all heart and he just wants to share his love with everyone he meets, so if you’re looking for that do-everything kind of guy, Bernie’s your man!
Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday at 85 Temperance Ave. just south of Sierra Avenue. All adoptable pets have been spayed or neutered, are current on their vaccinations and microchipped.
Adoption fees are $25 for dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.
Note: the Pet of the Week may no longer be available after press time, but plenty of other adoptable pets are. Visit clovisanimalservices.org/miss-winkles for more information.
