Man dies after being pinned in truck in Delano
A man is dead after losing control of his truck Monday afternoon on Highway 99 and hitting an electrical box that sparked a fire, the California Highway Patrol said.
The man was driving south on Highway 99 just north of County Line Road in Delano when he lost control of his Ford F-150 and rolled over, CHP said. The man was pinned in the car and was unable to escape when the electrical box started the fire.
CHP said bystanders tried to help by putting the fire out, but the man died at the scene.
His identity was not released, pending notification of kin.
