Officers from the Fresno Police Southwest District and youths from the West Fresno Boys & Girls Club celebrated the beginning of a partnership with a night out Thursday at the Taco Truck Throwdown at Chukchansi Park.

The youths joined Southwest commander Lt. Mark Salazar, Sgt. George Wilson, detective Jaime Campos and chaperone Tommy Lowe in a suite, ate tacos, snacks and ice cream (some courtesy of local businessman Terrance Frazier and fans in an adjoining suite) and then hurried home because it was a school night.

Salazar said it’s the first of many planned outings and mentoring between the agencies.
