Fire destroys Fresno home west of Highway 99
A three-alarm fire destroyed a Fresno home west of 99 highway on Saturday.
Three people were displaced by the fire, which started at 11:56 a.m. Saturday, said fire department spokesman Hector Vasquez.
Firefighters responded to a neighbor’s call of the backyard tree on fire. They found the home surrounded by heavy smoke with fire flowing out of the roof, Vasquez said.
Around 20 minutes later, officials upgraded the fire to three alarms. Gas tanks were in the backyard of the home, Vazquez said.
Thirty-nine firefighters battled the blaze before getting it under control by 12:26 p.m. There were no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
