Two men killed in Oakhurst ID’d

The two men who died Saturday in Oakhurst were identified by the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Cmdr. Bill Ward said 45-year-old Jacob Jerome Henderson of Oakhurst was killed after being stabbed just before 3 p.m. Saturday. The deadly knifing occurred in a parking lot near the Oak Room bar off Highway 41, the Sheriff’s Office said Saturday.

Jack Bonner Thornton, 58, of Coarsegold also died Saturday following a motorcycle accident at the Highway 41 and Road 426 intersection in Oakhurst, Ward said.

It wasn’t clear if the two fatal incidents were connected. Ward said an investigation of the homicide was underway.
