The Sierra Mono Museum is hosting its 45th Indian Fair Days and Pow Wow on after being canceled last year because of a forest fire.

The cultural celebration, which includes a dance competition, will be held 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Minarets High School, 45077 Road 200, in O’Neals. The event will also have food and crafts.

Past years have included dance competitions for boys, girls and adults. There will be traditional drumming done by Black Bear Crossing and Red Buffalo, Gene Ray Ahboah.

Last year’s event was canceled because of the Willow Fire. The year before that, it was postponed several weeks due to smoky conditions created by the French Fire.

Pow wows are held annually in the central San Joaquin Valley by other tribes, such as at Table Mountain near Friant and Tachi in Lemoore.
