Chance for an additional $10 at the Dinuba Farmers Market
The deadline has been extended for CalFresh families who want an additional $10 to use at the Dinuba Farmers Market.
Through Sept. 2, people using CalFresh benefits will get an additional $10 to spend on locally grown fruits and vegetables thanks to a grant from Kaweah Delta Health Care District.
The grant was awarded to oversee Market Match, California’s healthy-food incentive program. The program is aimed to benefit the farmers market’s low-income customers to make healthy food choices. The market also accepts food stamp vouchers issued by Women Infants and Children and Area of Aging senior programs.
The Market Match can be used at the Dinuba Farmers Market, which takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. every Friday through Aug. 5. The market provides nutritional education booths and information booths, along with live entertainment, arts, crafts and activities for children.
