Man dies after truck crashes in Squaw Valley area
A man was killed after his truck flipped over and he was partly thrown out early Sunday morning in the Squaw Valley area, the California Highway Patrol said Friday.
The 54-year-old driver of a Ford two-axle flatbed was heading south on George Smith Road south of Ennis Road around 7:26 a.m. when the truck went off the road and overturned, the CHP said.
The vehicle caught fire after the crash, and the fire engulfed the truck, the driver and a surrounding half-acre of grass and trees.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
