Fire northeast of Reedley destroys trailer, threatens homes

A grass fire threatened several homes Sunday afternoon northeast of Reedley, destroying one trailer before being extinguished, Cal Fire officials said.

The fire erupted around 1:40 p.m. on Sunday, near Muscat and Navelencia avenues. Multiple structures were threatened by the fire, Cal Fire Capt. David Martin said. Over 20 firefighters responded to the grass fire, which spread to a trailer that was destroyed. No other buildings were harmed.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
