12th #RuralPride Summit scheduled for Visalia

The U.S. Department of Agriculture and the National Center for Lesbian Rights are teaming up to host the 12th LGBT #RuralPride Summit on July 21 in Visalia. The free event will take place in the Visalia Convention Center from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The summit will feature panels and workshops that address challenges faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals who live and work in Central California.

The #RuralPride Summit was launched in 2014 to offer a platform for LGBT individuals and their specific needs living in rural communities. The organization has invited federal agencies and nonprofits to discuss opportunities for LGBT adults, youths and their families.

Lunch will be served, but registration is limited and begins at 8:30 a.m. on July 21.
