Big Fire east of Clovis now 100 percent contained

The Big Fire that threatened homes east of Clovis is now 100 percent contained, Cal Fire officials announced Wednesday evening.

Approximately 188 acres burned when the fire started on Monday around 2:30 p.m., threatening several homes around Watts Valley Road and Big Springs Lane. A Fresno County Sheriff’s Office vehicle was burned; the deputy, who was organizing an evacuation, wasn’t injured.
