Electrical fire threatens Visalia home

A fire in an electrical box threatened a Visalia home in the middle of the night but firefighters put it out before it could spread.

At 3:17 a.m. Tuesday, the Visalia Fire Department responded to a report of smoke in an electrical box on the outside of a home.

Firefighters suspected the fire was inside a wall and protected the inside of the home before putting it out.

It took about 20 minutes to find and put out the fire, the department said. Damage was limited to $25,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
