Sanger wants smoke-free parks, survey says
Thanks to a survey conducted by the American Lung Association in California in Sanger, the city may be one step closer to tobacco-free parks.
More than 92 percent of Sanger residents who took the survey supported the adoption of a policy that would make parks in the city tobacco-free, helping to improve littering and potential exposure to secondhand smoke.
Sanger art contest winners also drew billboards that will be placed throughout the city to promote smoke-free parks.
Fresno, Reedley, Firebaugh, Fowler, Orange Cove, Selma and Clovis have already adopted similar smoke-free park ordinances.
