Gas pedal mistake propels car into central Fresno home

Fresno police say no one was injured Thursday afternoon when a 70-year-old man backed his car into a neighbor’s house in central Fresno.

The incident occurred about 2 p.m. in the 2300 block of West Swift Avenue. Lt. Joe Gomez said the man mistakenly stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake while backing out of his driveway. There were several people in the vehicle, which drove into an empty room in the home.
