Kingsburg man dies in crash near Selma
An 18-year-old Kingsburg man is dead after an accident southeast of Selma on Saturday night, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened at 11:09 p.m. on Mountain View Avenue west of Academy Avenue.
The victim was driving east on Mountain View at 60 mph and apparently didn’t see a car stopped on the road ahead of him, CHP said.
He turned onto the soft-dirt shoulder to avoid the vehicle but lost control.
The victim’s vehicle overturned and he was thrown from it because he wasn’t wearing a seat belt, CHP said.
There were no other injuries.
