Body of Pennsylvania trucker found in rig in Tulare County parking lot
The body of a truck driver from Pennsylvania has been found in his big rig, but foul play is not suspected, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department said Tuesday.
The trucker has been identified as Barry Lee Glass, 53, of Altoona, Pennsylvania.
The Tulare County Coroner’s Office is awaiting results of a toxicology report before stating the cause of death.
His decomposing body was found about 7 p.m. Sunday in the cab of a white 2012 International ProsStar parked in Terra Bella at the Sierra Minit Mart on Avenue 95 near Highway 65.
A resident of the area called the sheriff’s department and reported seeing the truck on June 1 and 2 and again on June 12, said public information officer Teresa Douglass.
The resident notified the sheriff’s department after seeing a photo of the truck on social media seeking the whereabouts of the missing trucker, she said.
On May 31, the trucker made a delivery to the Tule Indian Reservation, the sheriff’s department said.
The sheriff’s department was contacted last week by authorities in Pennsylvania who said the trucker was last heard from in Tulare County.
