A grass fire Monday blackened a field in southwest Fresno, but did not damage any structures, a Fresno fire official said.

The fire was reported Monday afternoon at the southeast corner of Church and Marks avenues, said Fresno Fire Capt. Michael Zimmerman.

Zimmerman said Fresno Fire was the first to respond followed by Fresno County Fire. The land is at the city’s border.
