Sheriff confirms 77-year-old veteran found dead near Pine Flat
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Monday that the body found near Pine Flat Lake on June 11 was Donald Thomas, 77.
Thomas, a U.S. Air Force veteran, went missing from his home near Pine Flat on June 5. Dozens of volunteers began an exhaustive search that night.
On June 11, 50 searchers and five dogs from seven agencies joined forces. They eventually found Thomas.
Sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti said Monday Thomas’ cause of death had not yet been determined.
