Sunday morning storm dampens Fresno streets
A storm dropped rain on Fresno early Sunday morning drenching parts of the city.
There was 0.06 inches of a rain officially overnight, but that level was measured at Fresno Yosemite International Airport, said Christine Riley, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Hanford. The levels may have been higher or lower in other parts of town because the showers were very localized.
There was a chance of showers and thunderstorms for Fresno on Sunday. The rain was expected to fall between noon and the early evening, but the National Weather Service wasn’t expecting more than 0.01 inches of rain in the Fresno area.
The weather service Sunday afternoon said there were reports of dime-size hail falling at Cedar Grove Visitor Center in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, and snow falling at Tioga Pass.
