The city of Fresno will open its pools this year starting Monday and continuing through Aug. 14. Pools will be open daily from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.:

▪ Mosqueda Pool, 4670 E. Butler (Maple and Butler avenues), bus routes 26 and 28.

▪ Frank H. Ball Pool, 760 Mayor St. (Ventura and A streets), bus route 32.

▪ Mary Ella Brown Pool, 1350 E. Annadale (Elm and Annadale avenues), bus route 32.

▪ Airways Pool, 5440 E. Shields (Shields and Clovis avenues), bus route 45.

The city said a grant from Kaiser Permanente Fresno will provide children with free access to five learner pools this year, located at Fink-White, Pinedale, Quigley, Einstein and Romain Neighborhood Centers. Family swim nights will be held at each of those pools from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and at Airways Pool on Fridays only.

The city said swimmers must be at least 3 years old and 4 feet tall, and the cost is $1 for children under 18 and $2 for adults. Swim lessons will be available for ages 3 and older.
