Pedestrian killed in early morning central Fresno traffic collision
Police are investigating the death of a man who was struck by a car early Friday on Gettysburg Avenue east of Fresno Street in central Fresno.

Mark Hudson said preliminary reports are that the man, identified later Friday by the Fresno County Coroner as Jay Oh, 24, of Fresno, was sleeping on the sidewalk before he tried to cross Gettysburg from the north to the south side at Augusta Street. Oh was not in a crosswalk and walking in the street when he was struck by a driver in a Chevrolet Malibu who was on his way to work.
Oh was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was declared dead.
The driver stopped after the collision to be interviewed by officers and submitted to a blood draw. No drug or alcohol use is suspected at this time.
This is the 13th fatality this year, including five pedestrian deaths. By this time last year, there were 15 fatalities that included five pedestrians.
