Central Fresno garage fire causes $50,000 in damage
A garage fire erupted in central Fresno Tuesday night, causing $50,000 in damages to the home.
The fire erupted in the garage around 11 p.m. at 3490 E. Weldon Ave, Fresno Fire Battalion Chief Lawrence French said.
The fire grew to a two-alarm call when firefighters were informed there may have been occupants still trapped inside.
Firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to the rest of the home, and later discovered the home's three occupants had already fled to a neighboring vehicle.
One of the occupants had mobility issues, so other neighbors worried they might not have gotten out in time, French said, but everyone had made it out safely.
The cause of the fire was not known. It spread to portions of the attic.
