CHP to deploy more officers on Highway 41 in Fresno, Madera counties
More officers will be deployed along Highway 41 in Fresno and Madera counties starting Saturday in an effort to reduce the number of motorcycle-related incidents or collisions, the California Highway Patrol said.
The enforcement operation is meant to reduce incidents or collisions resulting from unsafe speed, following too closely, unsafe lane changes, improper turning and more, the CHP said. Future motorcycle safety enforcement operations are expected to be deployed through Sept. 30.
Funding for the program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Administration.
