Woman killed in 99 crash in Madera County ID’d
A Fresno woman killed early Tuesday when she was struck by a car driven by a Clovis man on Highway 99 in Madera County, was identified as Ivonne Rodriguez, 46.
The crash occurred just after 1 a.m. in the southbound lanes of 99 at Avenue 17. The California Highway Patrol said Koumesith Moua, 46, was southbound on 99 in the left lane at a speed of about 60 mph when he came upon a Honda stopped partially in the left lane and partially in the median after a crash. Rodriguez was standing to the left of the Honda, which had its flashers on. The CHP said that Moua steered to the left of the vehicle and collided with Rodriguez and the Honda before slamming into a guard rail. Rodriguez died at the scene. Moua and a passenger in the Honda were not hurt.
