K-9 contest takes place Saturday in Visalia

The Sierra K-9 Trials will be held Saturday at Plaza Park Raceway in Visalia.

The event begins at 8 a.m. and is free and open to the public.

About 30 law enforcement agencies from around the state and out of state will compete with their police dogs. Events include agility, obedience, and search and protection, including handler protection and apprehension of suspects.

The competition is hosted by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department and Visalia Police Department.
