Groundbreaking for wildfire safety project in Pinehurst on May 16
There will be a groundbreaking ceremony celebrating the start of a wildfire safety project on May 16 in the Pinehurst and Miramonte communities in eastern Fresno County.
The Hazardous Fuels Reduction Project to attack on the Extreme High Tree Mortality and Wildfire Dangers will be at the Pinehurst Lodge at Highway 245 and Todd Eymann Road at 11 a.m.
Members of the Oak to Timberline Fire Safe Council will be felling dead and dying trees along narrow winding roads to ensure the public and fire/emergency personnel can get in and out of these communities safely in the event of a wildfire.
Applications and landowner agreements from residents are being accepted to help with removing dead and dying trees on their properties.
For more information, email the council at Oaktotimberline@gmail.com, send mail to P.O. Box 762 Squaw Valley, CA 93675 or call Chair/President Sandi Cates at 559-999-5491.
