Police investigating man’s death as traffic collision
The Fresno Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the death of a man Thursday night as a possible traffic collision, according to Lt. Joe Gomez.
The man, who has not been identified, was found lying in the middle of a southeast Fresno street and later declared dead at a hospital.
Officers received a call around 9:15 p.m. Thursday for an injury collision at East and Florence avenues. Police reported the victim was found by a passerby lying in the roadway next to a wheelchair, but there wasn’t a driver on scene or other clues about a collision. The man was unresponsive and taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was declared dead.
