Patrol car sends vehicle crashing into Sanger garage
A deputy’s patrol car sent a vehicle into a Sanger garage Thursday evening, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.
The crash occurred around 5 p.m. after the deputy was traveling east on Almond Avenue, when his patrol car crossed the T-intersection and collided into a car parked in front of a home on 1240 Greenwood Avenue, Lt. Joe Smith said. The collision sent the parked vehicle into the home’s garage.
The deputy suffered minor injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for treatment, Smith said. A K-9 unit was also in the patrol car and didn’t suffer any injuries.
Someone was home during the crash, but wasn’t injured, Smith said. The collision caused damage to the garage door and to the contents inside.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
