12 workers taken to hospital after chemical exposure in western Fresno County
Twelve workers building a solar farm near Five Points in western Fresno County were taken to a hospital Monday morning after they were exposed to chemicals.
The incident occured on Mt. Whitney Avenue between Lassen and Siskyou avenues, according to sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti.
Botti said the chemicals drifted from an adjoining field where a tractor operator was spraying. The workers were rinsed off by firefighters before they were taken to be checked out at the hospital.
They were expected to be fine, according to Botti.
Mt. Whitney Avenue was closed in the area during the incident.
