Alta Sierra hosts ‘Stomp it out 5k’ to end prescription drug abuse

In an effort to combat prescription drug abuse in Fresno and Clovis, a kick-off rally will be held on Wednesday to promote the third annual “Stomp it Out 5k Fun Run/Walk” on Saturday at Alta Sierra Intermediate School.

The rally hopes to place 20,000 fliers at homes throughout Clovis and Fresno, and will take place on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Alta Sierra Intermediate School football stadium, at 380 W. Teague Ave. in Clovis.

During the run on Saturday, which starts at 8:30 a.m., the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office will be collecting unused prescription drugs in the school parking lot. Registration for the race is $15 and includes a PDA Awareness T-shirt. To register for the race, visit stompitoutpda.com/.
