Valley to get a break before another storm threatens

After a wet and cloudy weekend, the Valley is likely to get a break to dry out before another chance of rain arrives later this week.

The weekend’s storm dropped 0.95 inches of rain in the Fresno area, said David Spector, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Hanford.

On Monday, the Valley has a 20 percent chance of rain, then a few days of mostly sunny skies. On Thursday, there is another 20 percent chance of rain, he said.

Monday’s weather system could reach the South Valley, while the system on Thursday is only forecast for the North Valley.

Daytime highs in Fresno are expected to be in the mid-70s through Wednesday before cooling off to the upper 60s on Thursday. Overnight temperatures should be in the low to mid-50s through Wednesday.
