More than 180 classic cars and trucks are expected to swarm the streets and highways in the Fresno and Clovis area, the Fresno Sierra Chapter of the Model A Ford Club of America said.

The chapter said drivers will gather for the Central California Regional Group’s Jamboree from April 14 to 17. Classic Model A Ford vehicles from 1928 through 1931 will tour the streets, the chapter said.

The large celebration is held once every eight years; the vehicles are driven by dedicated owners from club chapters throughout the state.

The chapter said nearly 390 participants will operate the nearly 180 classic vehicles registered for the event.

The drivers will engage in driving tours through some of Fresno’s landmarks.

The chapter said the event is designed to be a spectator occasion and activities are not open to the public.
