Food bank fundraiser brings Southern hospitality to Visalia

A touch of Southern hospitality will be in the springtime air from 1 to 4 p.m. May 7 in Visalia to raise money for FoodLink for Tulare County.

The food bank’s eighth annual Kentucky Derby party at the Visalia Country Club at 625 N. Ranch St. will feature the horse race on big screens, hors d'oeuvres, drinks, live bluegrass music, a silent auction and more.

Event organizers hope to raise $150,000, which will be used to support FoodLink for Tulare County’s nutrition education and hunger relief activities throughout the county. Event tickets before April 22 are $50 per person. The price will later rise to $65 per person.

Tickets are available now at www.foodlinktc.org/news-events/kentucky-derby.
