Cruise night on Blackstone Avenue in Fresno got particularly busy Easter Sunday.

Fresno police Lt. Richard Tucker said cruising is typical this time of year, but traffic officers were forced to shut down a portion of Blackstone from Herndon to Shaw avenues due to gridlock and people stopping for long periods in store parking lots.

Many protestors carried Mexican-American flags as they drove Blackstone from Ashlan to Shaw avenues, where the majority of the group was gathered, to protest against presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The cruising lasted about an hour and a half Sunday night, Tucker said, but traffic officers were well-staffed and prepared.
