The story of three siblings fleeing the 1915 Armenian genocide will be the focus of a book reading at the Armenian Museum of Fresno, the museum said.
Award-winning author Dana Walrath will read from her latest book on the Armenian Genocide, “Like Water on Stone,” on April 6 at 7 p.m. in the museum housed in the University of California Center at 550 E. Shaw Ave.
The anthropologist will also share excerpts of her book’s animation by the Tumo Center in Yerevan, Armenia.
The novel tells the story of siblings who hide by day and run by night in search of the mountains as Ottoman leaders plan to exterminate all Armenians, the museum said in an online event page.
The novel is presented with lyrical language and musical threads used to describe the siblings’ escape from genocide, the museum said.
Admission and parking for the event is free to the public.
