North Fork man shot in leg. The mystery: who did it?

A North Fork man was shot in the leg early Tuesday morning, but Madera County Sheriff's deputies are unsure whether he shot himself or was shot in a fight.

Deputies received a call about 5 a.m. that a 35-year-old man had been taken to a Cal Fire station on Road 200 in North Fork with a non-lethal gunshot wound. He was sent on to a Fresno hospital for treatment.

Investigators got varying accounts of what happened between the victim and his companion and continue to investigate.
